Irene Monis

Principal, San Francisco

As the Technical Director for the San Francisco studio, Irene partners with project teams to support design excellence and technical innovation. She has significant experience working on projects with a variety of delivery methods and has led and mentored large teams to deliver complex projects.

Originally from Argentina, Irene enjoys getting involved with the Bay Area community by volunteering at local community colleges to help underrepresented students consider careers in the AEC industry. She is an active member of AIA San Francisco and currently serves as the chair for the Committee on Architecture for Education. Away from the office, Irene loves traveling anywhere tropical and will jump in just about any body of water.

Technical Design Training Program

Irene recently led a group of Designer 1’s and 2’s on a tour of San Francisco’s De Young Museum, where the group discussed how technical detailing and code compliance merged with the museum’s design intent.
