Nathan Bluestone

Associate Principal, Branded Environments, New York

Nathan brings boundless curiosity and a passion for storytelling through design. As a leader in brand, strategy, and graphic design, he helps clients define who they are, who they want to be, and how their spaces can express their identity. His work integrates environmental graphics, identity systems, and experiential storytelling into architecture, creating spaces that embody both brand and mission. He has designed award-winning exhibits, environmental graphics, and visual identities for clients ranging from global corporations and universities to cultural and civic organizations.

His design philosophy is rooted in curiosity and thoughtful questioning. From early days working in bike shops and on vintage car restoration to his multidisciplinary experience in photography, music, and brand strategy, he brings a maker’s mindset and a storyteller’s instinct to every project. He finds meaning in connecting every detail to a larger story.

Whether it’s a skyline or a wax-paper bag for a to-go cookie, design works best when it connects the smallest gesture to the bigger picture.
fun fact

As a kid, Nathan was fanatical about BMX and mountain biking, spending every spare moment tinkering with bikes and testing his limits on trails. That same hands-on curiosity led him to rebuild vintage BMW motorcycle engines, apprentice in car restoration, gig as a musician for seven years, and even manage a photography archive at Chicago’s Field Museum before landing in architecture and design.
