Necia E. Bonner
For more than 25 years, Necia has specialized in healthcare, science, and technology interiors, shaping environments across academic medical centers, community hospitals, research laboratories, and corporate science campuses. She leads interiors for the Houston healthcare and science and technology practices, guiding design with clarity of concept and strength of vision.
Her connection to healthcare environments is deeply personal. Born in the hospital her father administered, Necia gained early insight into the operational realities of care environments—an understanding that continues to inform her work today.
Necia is recognized for bridging complex clinical and research requirements with thoughtful, human-centered design. With deep fluency in infection prevention, day-one readiness, and evolving regulatory standards, she translates technical demands into environments that are adaptable, resilient, and intuitive. As a Certified Healthcare Interior Designer, she brings advanced expertise to highly complex clinical settings.
Necia is also deeply committed to advancing the profession in industry organizations and through ongoing service to the design community. She has held multiple leadership roles within the International Interior Design Association, including Programs Chair, Advocacy Chair, and three-time Leaders Breakfast Chair. She has also chaired the AIA Committee on Architecture for Health, contributed for more than a decade to the Texas Association for Interior Designers, and currently serves on the board of Texas Women in Healthcare.
