Rob Grabarz

AIA
Principal, Corporate and Commercial, Washington, D.C.

Rob is an expert in project management and delivery, with particular skill in navigating complex client relationships and multi-faceted project teams. His portfolio spans interior architecture for the corporate and legal sectors, base building design and implementation, and base building renovation and repositioning.

As the Washington, D.C. studio’s Corporate and Commercial Practice Leader, Rob brings a precise, analytical approach that complements other designers’ talents, fine-tuning every detail alongside his teams. He sees both the forest and the trees—grasping the big picture while clearly articulating how individual features impact the whole. Rob challenges the traditional belief that clients must choose between quality, cost, and schedule; instead, he thrives on optimizing and balancing all three to align with client objectives.

Mentorship is a key part of Rob’s practice. He enjoys supporting junior designers, formally and informally, and often says he hopes they will one day take his job. After all, a studio’s portfolio is not a zero-sum game: when an emerging designer assumes some of Rob’s responsibilities, it creates space for him to continue learning and growing into new challenges.
