Simon Bone

LEED Green Associate, BREEAM AP
Associate Principal, Workplace, London

While Simon has had an interest in design since childhood, he originally embarked on a completely different career. His first job was in financial investment, but despite enjoying the challenges of this profession, he missed the ability to apply his artistic skills. He chose to retrain in art and design, choosing interior design due to the positive impact it could have on people and the environment.

Throughout his career, Simon has been passionate about sustainability, recognising the focus on environmental health is directly linked to human well-being. Driven by a desire to deliver best practice solutions, that truly consider wider design, he is committed to developing and delivering solutions to meet our industry’s carbon neutral targets.

Challenging and supporting his own team is also something that is hugely important to Simon. After having strong mentorship early in his career, he is proud to be a mentor, passing on his experience and learning to younger staff in the studio, enabling them to realise their potential and make a positive impact on the wider design community.

"To ensure the future of our planet, we need to prioritise carbon neutral design and focus on designing for a circular economy. In doing so, we can reduce the mark we leave and give future generations, and our remaining biodiversity, a chance to flourish."
