NBA Minnesota Timberwolves, Target Center Renovations
Target Center, one of the busiest arenas in the U.S., underwent a visionary $145M transformation to redefine the fan experience and strengthen its connection to downtown Minneapolis. Originally designed in the late 1980s as an enclosed, utilitarian structure, the venue has evolved into a dynamic, people-first destination.
Working alongside Alliiance, we reimagined Target Center with a bold new glass entrance, enhanced circulation, and immersive gathering spaces infused with natural light. The renovation introduced the Midwest’s largest center-hung scoreboard, premium hospitality spaces like the Lexus Courtside Club, and redefined seating configurations to improve sightlines. The exterior now features variegated metal panels, integrating harmoniously with the Warehouse District.
With over 200 events annually and more than a million visitors each year, Target Center has been elevated into a civic landmark—one that seamlessly blends urban connectivity, architectural ingenuity, and cutting-edge fan engagement.
Designed with inclusivity and experience in mind, Target Center’s renovation delivers a spectrum of hospitality-driven spaces. The Lexus Courtside Club, TCL Theater Boxes, and Treasure Island Premium Level elevate comfort and exclusivity while maintaining accessibility for all guests. A seamless “street-to-seat” experience ensures a welcoming and intuitive journey from arrival to final buzzer.

What was once an inward-facing arena has been redefined as an open, vibrant landmark. The renovation integrates natural daylight, intuitive wayfinding, and pedestrian-friendly enhancements, fostering stronger connections between the venue and its urban surroundings. A reimagined facade and skyway integration solidify Target Center as a key anchor in Minneapolis’ entertainment district.
