Friese Family Tower
The Friese Family Tower at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center embodies the principles of calm and comfort, with the aim of enhancing patient care and well-being. The design prioritizes a serene and welcoming environment throughout, leveraging blue and green tones, a central healing garden, and local artwork. Each patient room features recliners and sleeper sofas, ensuring comfort for patients and their families.
The approach provides a nurturing space for healing and recovery and reinforces the medical center’s commitment to serving the San Fernando Valley community with high-quality, compassionate care.
The facility includes 150 private rooms. The expanded emergency department and specialized care units, such as the pediatric unit with a playroom and a dedicated room for adolescent patients, cater to the diverse needs of the community. A new pharmacy with a pneumatic tubing system streamlines medication delivery, improving efficiency and patient care.
The interiors feature blue and green tones intended to establish a serene atmosphere. Central to this calming environment is the healing garden that provides a quiet retreat for patients, families, and staff. The garden serves as a place of respite, allowing visitors to connect with nature.
To enhance environmental and operational efficiency, the Friese Family Tower integrates energy-efficient lighting, heat recovery systems that eliminate the need for a boiler, and low-water-use landscaping. These sustainable features reduce energy consumption, lower the building’s carbon footprint, and promote a healthier environment for patients and the community.
