Chris Connell
For Chris, every client conversation, observation, and aspiration contains the seeds of an opportunity. The architect’s role, he believes, is not simply to provide answers, but to bring clarity—to organize complexity into something purposeful, elegant, and enduring.
“Good design doesn’t start with aesthetics,” Chris says. “It starts with understanding.”
That philosophy has shaped a career spanning healthcare, research, arts and culture, education, urban placemaking, and large-scale civic infrastructure. Whether designing hospitals, airports, rail stations, galleries, or public spaces, Chris is drawn to projects that influence how people experience their daily lives. He is fascinated by places that serve many different users over long periods of time—places that become part of the identity, rhythm, and memory of a city.
Chris believes architecture is never an isolated object. Every project is an invitation to strengthen the contextual fabric: to connect people, contribute to a sense of place, and improve how a neighborhood, district, or city functions. The most successful buildings, he believes, are those that work together with their surroundings to create experiences beyond the sum of their parts.
