Lynnette’s interest in design started early; at any ‘stay quiet’ event when all of the other children were using crayons in coloring books, she was drawing floor plans. Raised by a father who worked with NASA on the Apollo 11 LUNAR landing program, Lynnette realized her inherited ‘math mind’ is critical to solving planning puzzles and the formation of spaces.

To Lynnette, design can have a spiritual, almost ethereal quality, and in many ways is a response to the beauty that she sees in nature. She specializes in the design of healthcare environments that promote healing by altering the ambiance of a room through materiality and the careful placement of lighting and furniture.

She is involved in the Family Promise organization, providing food and housing to the homeless in her community. She has also volunteered extensively with the American Cancer Society.

Inspiring the next generation

Lynnette has spent 12 years teaching interior design as an adjunct faculty member. “It’s inspiring to teach the history of interiors and architecture, to share a love of history and its role in the formation of styles and motifs through culture and politics. I love when you see that ‘light bulb’ go off. It’s so rewarding to see your students become successful in the field, making a name for themselves in an industry they love.”
