North Carolina Freedom Park, which received a grant from the Mellon Foundation’s Monuments Project, is a landmark project 20 years in the making. The park honors African American struggles and triumphs in pursuit of freedom, justice, equality and opportunity.

It’s also creating new commemorations that will expand the American story—telling a more complete and complex story of who we are as a nation. – ARCHITECT Magazine
