D’Arcy Arthurs Elected to the RAIC’s College of Fellows

With great excitement we congratulate D’Arcy Arthurs for his recent induction into the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada’s College of Fellows.

Every year, a jury meets to assess and award nominated RAIC members who have made significant contributions to the architecture profession and bettering their communities.

Meet D’Arcy:

D’Arcy Arthurs, OAA, NSAA, FRAIC, AIA, LEED® AP

Over the past three decades, D’Arcy has developed a solid reputation as an excellent design architect and astute managing principal. D’Arcy has dedicated himself to creating a culture of practice and management framework that consistently yield beautiful and enduring spaces. Under D’Arcy’s guidance as Managing Director, the Ontario practice of Perkins&Will has experienced significant growth in its Toronto and Ottawa studios and has been recognized nationally and internationally for award-winning design excellence on projects including Albion Library, Bank of Canada Head Office Renewal, and Aaniin Community Centre and Library.

A detail-oriented problem solver by nature, the craft of making drives D’Arcy’s curiosity. He provides direction informed by lessons learned with enthusiasm to clients and design teams serving the civic, institutional, transportation, urban design, and corporate marketplace in Ontario, Quebec, and Eastern Canada and is directly involved in the practice’s largest projects. He cares deeply about every facet of the practice and has a desire to teach the next generation of leaders.

D’Arcy appreciates that a design project, from the earliest client engagement to completion, is a complex journey with many competing interests. He believes that being able to navigate this route for clients and teams, while capturing project and societal goals, is our most important role as architects.

D’Arcy received his Bachelor of Architecture in 1986 from Carleton University, graduating with High Distinction and received the Ontario Association of Architects Silver Medal for design. D’Arcy joined Perkins&Will in 1987.
