David Cordell Named Fellow of American Society of Interior Designers

ASID recognizes longstanding commitment to building health, wellness, sustainability, and climate responsibility in designs for interior architecture.

Associate Principal and Corporate Interiors Practice Leader in our Washington, D.C. studio, David Cordell, ASID, LEED AP, WELL AP, will be inducted into the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) College of Fellows—the society’s highest honor and bestowed on less than one percent of ASID membership. The honor recognizes David’s longstanding commitment to environments that protect and sustain individual and environmental health and wellness. His career mirrors our firm’s leadership and dedication to Living Design to create high performing places that promote human and ecological well-being at every level.

“David’s work unfailingly delivers measurable positive impacts for individual health and the global environment,” said Chris Morrison, Principal and Managing Director of our Washington, D.C. studio. “With contributions ranging from science and tech projects to healthcare and corporate spaces, David’s passion and leadership has consistently underscored our firm’s values and work to improving people’s lives through design.”

David is widely recognized for helping reframe design excellence through a sustainability and health lens, while consistently creating spaces that are adaptable, resilient, productive, and beautiful.

“This award affirms my belief that design is intrinsically human-centered and empathetic,” said David, who also chairs ASID’s Committee for Climate, Health, and Equity. “Interior designers have an obligation to think about how we can reverse the impacts of climate change, how we support human health, and how we can contribute to building more cohesive communities.”

“I’m grateful for this honor, in large part because it comes from an organization that has been at the forefront of climate health, human well-being, and equity."
