Two weeks after the grand opening of the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C., visitors continue to flock there from all over the world to learn and be inspired by “A People’s Journey, A Nation’s Story.” At the same time, we at Perkins&Will want you to learn and be inspired by the stories of Phil Freelon, NMAAHC Lead Architect, and Zena Howard, NMAAHC Senior Project Manager.
In this second installment of In Their Own Words – our new video series – Phil shares what it’s meant to him, personally, to contribute to this monumental project, why he is proud to be African American today, and what he hopes the museum will offer visitors for years to come.
