Perkins&Will Enhances its National Aviation Team

Perkins&Will welcomes Adam Ariano, leading aviation and sustainable design architect, to its Minneapolis studio

Global architecture and design firm Perkins&Will announces the growth of its aviation practice with the addition of Adam Ariano, an experienced airport designer, strategist, and project manager. Based in the firm’s Minneapolis studio, Ariano—whose expertise is in sustainability and improving the passenger experience—will work closely with global aviation practice leader Julie Wienberg to serve a growing number of airport, airline, and transportation clients in the Midwest and beyond.

“Airports are the first and last impression that travelers have of a region, so their design should authentically reflect and celebrate the spirit of their respective region and community,” Ariano says. “Not only are they critical to the nation’s infrastructure, but also, when well-designed, they can have a positive impact on people’s daily lives.”

“I look forward to continuing to champion my passion for sustainable aviation design and passenger accessibility at Perkins&Will,” he says. “Together with my talented colleagues from around the firm, we will design airport spaces and amenities that serve all travelers and make the experience of air travel a truly enjoyable one.”

Ariano is an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in Minnesota and recently co-chaired its Committee on Design, administering the state’s architectural design awards. He led efforts to update the awards program to align with the profession’s commitment to sustainability and equity, and established the Next Gen Award, recognizing the volunteering and community outreach contributions of recently graduated architects. Ariano graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago with a master’s degree in architecture.
