Eiad Haddadin
Born in the U.S. and with family ties in the Middle East, Eiad’s career spans cultures and continents. But he stays focused on a universal truth: Everyone deserves thoughtful and beautiful architecture.
When he was working in Jordan in his mid-twenties, he boldly asked to lead a large hospital design project in Saudi Arabia, even though he had little experience in the country and had never worked in healthcare. To compensate for his lack of experience, he embarked on an extensive research project, interviewing doctors and nurses to learn about their preferences, pain points, and daily practices. He also talked with facility managers, janitors, and support staff to gain comprehensive operations knowledge. “I wanted to understand all aspects of care, not just in the clinical areas, but for all the people in spaces that served those areas,” he says. The project was a success, and Eiad found his calling.
Since then, he has worked on more than 200 hospitals, specializing in programming, planning, and design. As a leader in our healthcare practice, he advocates for balancing functionality and efficiency with the creativity and innovation of well-integrated multidisciplinary teams. “We always strive to make places for wellness and healing, and that goal applies not only to patients, family, and staff, but also to the broader community and the environment,” he says.
