Josiah’s work lies at the intersection of innovation and sustainability, and he has operated at the forefront of the landscape and urban design industry for over 25 years. Focusing on the integration of design, ecology, and infrastructure, his practice leverages landscape urbanism with macro-systems thinking across municipal districts, hospitality, healthcare, commercial, and academic campus planning scales.

As managing principal of our Bainbridge studio, Josiah oversees large-scale and high-profile projects, team organization, and business growth. He collaborates closely with the firm’s Living Design experts to ensure coordination across studios and promote regenerative design principles in practice.

Areas of Focus

Josiah is passionate about regenerative land use and he is a recognized expert in urban water management, green roof systems, and living design dynamics including urban heat, air quality, water quality, drought, fire, and flooding. He is a regular presenter and prominent voice on topics ranging from stormwater management and sea-level rise to human health, wellness, wastewater, and water supply.

Outside the studio
In his free time, Josiah enjoys spending as much time in nature as possible, from diving and hiking to winter sports in the mountains.
