Lea Anne Leatherwood

AIA, LEED AP BD+C
Associate Principal, Science and Technology, Houston

Lea Anne considers herself a “doer” and thinks of each project as its own unique puzzle. Finding creative ways to meet the needs of the occupant while deciphering how to put together technical details to find the best solution stimulates her creative spirit. Growing up, she was fascinated with ancient civilizations and how monumental buildings and cities were built. Today she takes that excitement and works on developing spaces knowing that we can make an impact on how people live, work, play, and feel.

Passionate about social and environmental responsibility, it’s important to Lea Anne to be an active member of the community and our Sustainable Design Initiative. Pursing projects that benefit individuals in need or those who might not have a voice, she leads several volunteer efforts, some of which include representing local animal shelters and food banks. If you catch her outside of the office, she’s likely spending time in her garden nurturing her green thumb or driving along the countryside in one of her vintage motorcycles.

"Architecture is not just a job or even just a career; knowing that I can make a positive impact on how people live, work, play, and feel is the best reward."
