Matt Malone

AIA, NCARB, LEED AP
Principal, Science and Technology, New York

Matt specializes in the complex work of laboratory and research facility design. He believes labs should be treated as workplaces, and therefore seeks to create spaces that foster focus, collaboration, and comfort. He brings that same mindset to client relationships, leading projects with curiosity and empathy. He listens closely, looks for real-world solutions, and builds trust by putting himself in his client’s shoes. A three-year stint working in commercial life sciences development provides him with strategic insights into economic drivers, challenges, and opportunities that clients are experiencing in today’s market.

Matt began his career designing pharmaceutical projects in New Jersey before moving to Washington, D.C. to work with federal and public health clients on high-containment and research lab projects. Eventually, he returned to the New York area to take on academic, translational, and commercial work. His projects have earned awards, and more importantly, they’ve created better environments for science. His work has also taken him to Chicago, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Boston, California, Salt Lake City, and Colorado.
