A life-long traveler, Mike is fascinated by how different places can evoke different emotions, and believes that architecture has the ability to change the way people think about their environment. He is inspired by innovative designs that create moments of wonder, that are unexpected, elegant, and intelligent in both aesthetic and practical ways.

Drawn to working with groups with diverse voices, Mike enjoys the process of distilling ideas to their very essence, creating a place that is a true reflection of the community. With a passion for public engagement, Mike has led a variety of city-shaping projects through all stages, including large complex projects with extensive stakeholder groups. Bringing a balance of artistic and technical ability to his work, Mike believes that a projects ultimate success comes from working in collaboration with others to create a space that puts people first.

Mike believes the design of a successful urban realm relies on its legibility, layering of activity, seasonality, and consideration of all of whom live and work in the community.
