Future-Ready Transportation Within Everyone’s Reach

Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) offers a new vision of transportation—one that is sustainable and that supports resilient, connected communities. Our client approached us to help them envision how AAM technologies could be integrated at their existing regional airport and support their long-term goals of growth, innovation, and greater sustainability.

Our vertiport concept frames AAM as a valuable addition to the transportation ecosystem, integrating seamlessly through familiar infrastructure to bolster regional connectivity and economic potential. To support our client’s capital and strategic planning, we provided a roadmap for the integration of AAM infrastructure through phased development. In addition to the design of new AAM-focused passenger services, the concept also includes a vision for the development of a landside commercial campus. The increased connectivity and commercial opportunities will support economic initiatives in one of the fastest-growing municipalities in British Columbia, and establishes the Langley Airport as a hub within an emerging regional network.

Prefabricated components
Designing for Adoption and Resilience

The vertiport design leverages modular planning and prefabricated construction in a way that feels welcoming and familiar, with mass timber structural components and finishes creating a sense of warmth that enriches the passenger experience. This low-cost approach will support adoption and enable flexibility over time, allowing the vertiport to grow as needs evolve. The compact form is also inherently adaptable and suitable for remote, rural, and urban sites, facilitating the broader adoption of AAM.
