DFW Terminal F Design Concept

Dallas, Texas
Reimagining the passenger experience with a groundbreaking terminal design concept

Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, currently the second busiest passenger airport in the world, has its sights set on becoming number one. To achieve this ambitious goal and accommodate the rapid growth of the metroplex, DFW recognized the need to expand. Introducing the design concept for Terminal F, the airport’s highly anticipated sixth terminal, equipped with 15 initial gates and expandable to 22. This new concourse ensures the airport’s ability to efficiently manage surging passenger demands, while delivering enhanced services and state-of-the-art facilities.

Terminal F embodies DFW International Airport’s commitment to transforming travel. With a passenger-centric focus, efficient layout, cutting-edge amenities, and advanced technology, our design concept elevates the passenger experience and sets a new standard for modern airports.

Window to an Endless Sky

One of the architectural highlights of the terminal is its iconic glazing. This striking use of glass doesn’t just reduce solar heat gain and glare, it immerses passengers in a world of natural light and panoramic views.

Notice the seamless integration of the underground service connection. Keeping operations smooth and the travel experience straightforward, it facilitates automated baggage handling and servicing of the concourse’s retail, food, and beverage offerings and support functions.
Diverse Needs, Seamless Support

In passenger surveys of mega-airports, DFW consistently ranks highly. This is an airport commited to exceptional service. Accordingly, our concept for Terminal F introduces a range of innovative enhancements for passengers. These include a sensory room, family and adult changing stations, and dynamic digital travel information, meeting the needs of a diverse crowd and helping every traveler’s journey go smoothly.

A Shorter Distance to Your Gate

Unlike the existing single-loaded concourses, the Terminal F concept uses a double-loaded layout. This efficient plan reduces the travel distance from entry to gate without sacrificing a full array of amenities. While streamlining the passenger journey, it also optimizes operational efficiency.

Faster and Less Disruptive Construction

The design concept for Terminal F proposes modular bays prefabricated near the site. Enabling rapid assembly significantly reduces construction time and costs, also minimizing disruption to airport operations.
