The design of the Academic Colleges at Princess Nora Bint Abdulrahman University uses innovation as a means of giving back to and transforming society. Saudi Arabia’s culture, architectural tradition and regional climate presented a rich context for the new university. The project advances learning environments and building technologies while reflecting the region’s heritage through careful analysis of site, program, and culture. This contextual understanding shaped an architecture that honors the heritage, local materials, and proportions, creating innovative spaces that support a changing society.
