Shure Lobby and Cafe Renovation

Niles, Illinois

A modern architectural envelope, designed by Helmut Jahn in 2001, providing a backdrop for the current expression of Shure’s unique brand and culture. The renovation project was conceived from the vision of Shure’s Associates who desired a bold, warm, inviting, functional, and human centric environment. Strong brand color and lighting create drama, the wood and steel pavilion and biophilia introduces warmth and texture bringing human scale to the grand seven story atrium. Like the assembly of Shure’s products, materials are beautiful, functional, and well crafted.

Within the pavilion and Sidney’s Café – named after founder Sidney Shure – the space types vary from larger group meeting space to single heads down quiet booths. The café opens to a grassy area outside, where Associates (many of them musical artists) entertain with live music.
"We no longer wanted associates to be tethered to their desks but rather seek out spaces conducive to fostering creativity, collaboration and even quiet (me) time. The pandemic came along and accelerated flexible working at a pace far greater than we could have ever imagined."

Associates are fueled by diversity, creativity, innovation, and quality – features reflected in Shure’s lobby and café renovation.
