Thomson Reuters
Perkins&Will has worked closely with Thomson Reuters for over two decades, completing more than 200 projects worldwide, including progressive assignments in Toronto. As a trusted advisor, we have helped transform the company’s global real estate portfolio and workplace environments to better support its evolving business needs.
Most recently, we’ve been engaged to design a space for Thomson Reuters at 19 Duncan Street in Toronto. This project, which began in 2020, originally called for a consolidation of three locations utilizing existing Thomson Reuters’ global standards. Faced with evolving global circumstances, the forward-thinking client Executive Group instead steered the project toward a “reimagining of the Thomson Reuters workplace.” Ultimately, all bets were off. Our team then began exploring what the future of work might be for Thomson Reuters, as opposed to simply implementing global standards.
Nineteen Duncan consists of approximately 150,000 square feet over 10 floors and will have 800 work-points accommodating around 1,030 personnel. The office will feature a collaborative workplace environment designed to promote employee health and well-being. It will feature both formal and informal settings designed to enable a variety of work styles, supported by state-of-the-art technology, breakout spaces, exterior terraces, and enhanced food and beverage offerings throughout.
We designed a workplace that’s simultaneously progressive and able to evolve over time. Thomson Reuters’ 19 Duncan will showcase its commitment to wellness, innovation, and technology while offering much-needed diversity in the form of increased flexibility, choice, and enhanced amenities.
Frictionless technology and collaboration spaces will optimize in-office efficiency; the resulting workplace will encourage innovation and productivity.
