Aashit Shah

AIA, LEED AP BD+C
Associate Principal, Chicago

Design was part of Aashit’s story from the very beginning. He was shaped by the legacy of nearby works by Le Corbusier, Louis Kahn, and Balkrishna Doshi while growing up in Ahmedabad, India. That early exposure, combined with a lifelong appreciation for traditional Indian design and craft, shaped his belief that good architecture is always contextual, climate-responsive, and human-centered.

Aashit studied at the School of Architecture in Ahmedabad, where he learned firsthand how design can improve lives and strengthen communities. Those lessons continue to influence his work today.

With experience across the Americas, Middle East, China, Africa, and India, Aashit brings a global perspective to every project. His collaborative approach and curiosity help him translate diverse viewpoints into creative design ideas—especially in the early stages of a project, when strategy and vision are key.

I believe architecture is a dialogue between place, people, and purpose. Through global projects, I’ve learned to weave cultural insight into every design—creating spaces that are not only functional and innovative, but also deeply rooted in the identity of their context.
