Welcome Renny Logan to the North Carolina Practice Leadership Team!

As Design Director of our Charlotte and Durham studios, Renny will elevate our celebrated culture of design excellence

Award-winning architect Reynolds “Renny” Logan has joined our North Carolina practice as design director. Logan joins the firm with over 30 years of experience across a diverse mix of clients, project types, and cultural settings. He will oversee the creative direction of the Durham and Charlotte studios, working closely with local and regional leadership, design teams, and clients to help them realize their visions. A native of the Carolinas, Logan returns to the region after more than 20 years as a design leader in New York.

“Renny is a design leader of distinction with a celebrated portfolio,” says Zena Howard, managing director of the North Carolina practice. “He is a master collaborator and interdisciplinary team leader, skilled in the design and management of complex projects. He brings tremendous value to the firm, and to our clients.”

A Diverse Portfolio of Experiences
Logan is passionate about designing beautiful, high-performance places that meet the unique needs of clients, communities, and project sites. He views architecture as a mixture of art, sociology, commerce, and technology—and his portfolio supports that position. His projects include the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art, the Federal Courthouse in Central Islip, N.Y. (one of the nation’s largest courthouses), the former Swissair North American headquarters in Melville, N.Y., the Opel Residence in Vermont, and Rothschild Tower, a landmark residential tower in the heart of the White City in Tel Aviv, Israel.

“Renny is a great fit for our practice, and a terrific addition to our team,” said Kenneth Luker, design principal. “He is fully committed to the same values we hold dear, including social purpose, diversity and inclusion, and design excellence.”

“I look forward to helping to build on the firm’s legacy of socially impactful, award-winning work." —Renny Logan

Logan believes buildings should be expressions of their time and place, yet also endure over time, contributing positively to the public experience now and into the future.

“I am delighted to join a practice that is a global leader in architectural design, where collaboration with colleagues and clients is integral to our success. I’ve dedicated my career to design excellence in a collaborative environment. We listen, we learn, interpret, and provoke. Together, we produce much more than the sum of our parts.
