Our Minneapolis studio is enhancing its workplace leadership team with the addition of Melissa Young. Melissa will leverage her two decades of experience in architecture and design to enhance our studio’s capabilities and offerings while ensuring clients receive outstanding service.
Melissa brings a diverse background in hospitality, corporate interiors, and workplace design projects to her new role. Throughout her career, she has excelled in building strong relationships with building owners and managing projects with clients to redefine spaces.
Melissa is passionate about revitalizing downtown Minneapolis, focusing on reimagining the work environment and fostering a vision and design process embraced by all stakeholders to keep businesses anchored in the area. Among her recent notable projects are two significant tenant spaces within North Loop Green.
“Perkins&Will’s commitment to design excellence, community investment, and high-quality deliverables deeply impressed me,” says Young. “The firm’s people, culture, and work environment, combined with a professional balance between studio and mentorship, make it an ideal place for collaboration and celebrating meaningful work.”
Young joins the practice as a Senior Project Manager and will partner with Workplace Design Leader Anne Smith. Together, they will continue building on a distinguished portfolio that includes collaborations with notable clients such as Malson, LLP, RBC Wealth Management, and Delta Air Lines.
“Melissa’s business sense, reputation, and leadership will significantly contribute to our studio’s continued success and the advancement of our workplace practice,” says Jennifer Christiaansen, the managing director of our Minneapolis studio. “We’re thrilled to have her join our exceptional team, guiding us on our journey to redefine the workplace and elevate the client experience.”
