Barbara Crum

LEED AP
Principal, K-12 Education, Atlanta

The daughter of a female Navy officer— and the third generation to attend Vassar College—Barbara was surrounded by strong, driven women who instilled in her a love of art and culture. She grew up exploring the urban environment of Washington DC, captivated by the cultural offerings of the Smithsonian Museum and the National Zoo.

After studying at Columbia University, Barbara moved to Atlanta with her beau, “Bo,” where she immersed herself in the community and embarked on a 30-year career in architectural design, planning, and management.

As the Southeast Market Sector Leader, Barbara has led the expansion of our K-12 Education design practice with innovative planning and design solutions that maximize resources for schools. She believes in a strong collaborative process, and a focus on creating innovative environments that are uniquely suited to specific needs.

Barbara still maintains her love of art, and is passionate about spending time with her daughters and grandchildren, traveling to Martha’s Vineyard, and visiting new and exciting places.

“It is really awesome to learn that your design made a positive impact in someone’s life.”
