Brooke Trivas

Associate AIA, MCPPO, LEED AP BD+C
Principal, K-12 Education, Boston

Impacted by the racial tensions she witnessed as a girl growing up in Baltimore, Brooke has spent her career creating spaces that instill their occupants with a sense of equity, safety, and belonging. She brought that belief with her when she joined Perkins&Will and started Boston’s K-12 practice. Building on the firm’s legacy of designing for schools, Brooke has nurtured the growth of this practice, bringing sustainable, inspiring, and inclusive spaces to students and teachers throughout the Northeast. Her belief is that the time and effort she takes in design comes through in a building in the sense of place, community, and sustainable measures, while letting its users know how much they matter.

Within the Boston studio, she cultivates an environment of openness; she champions diversity, inclusion and learning through her various initiatives, and knows when it’s time to step back and let those initiatives take on a life of their own. She strives to create a workplace where voices are heard, opportunities are ample, and connections are made.

Design Philosophy
“Success is that spark that you see when people enter the building and their eyes light up because they can’t believe that this was designed for them.”
