Cillian Collins

MRIAI, CPHD, LEED AP BD+C
Associate Principal, Vancouver

For Cillian, architecture is a process—of problem-solving, building relationships, and bringing ideas to life. Renowned for navigating complex projects, he brings clarity, creativity, and a steady hand to every challenge. An early adopter of the Passive House standard, Cillian’s first project in this space pushed him to combine modern design with measurable sustainability. It deepened his understanding of how design decisions, material choices, and performance validation intersect to shape the spaces we create.

As a long-standing instructor and Chair of Passive House Canada’s Education Committee, Cillian sees teaching as a meaningful extension of practice. Sharing knowledge not only strengthens the profession—it sharpens his own thinking. He continues to champion collaboration among architects, builders, and engineers, believing that integrated, purpose-driven design is key to advancing sustainable architecture.

Fun Fact

Beyond architecture, Cillian’s passion for personal growth is just as strong—he completed a half-Ironman as his first (of many) triathlons, reflecting his drive to push boundaries and keep learning. That drive led to his participation in marathons, bike racing, triathlons and other endurance events, but has recently evolved to a more mellow approach exploring the great outdoors by foot or bike with family and friends.
