Richard Herring

AIA, LEED AP, Lean Black Belt
Principal, Health, Atlanta

A career in design came naturally to Richard, and his particular affinity toward healthcare design emerged from a childhood watching his mother work in hospitals. Guided by what he observed in his early years, Richard set out to reshape the manner by which healthcare facilities are designed. Believing that “spaces should be more than just elegant–they should be impactful,” he has designed some of the country’s most notable facilities, striving to “disrupt the status quo” in healthcare design.

Richard has lived in Atlanta since the early 90s, and has taken on a variety of roles on some of the firm’s most complex projects. A frequent speaker at conferences and universities, Richard is dedicated to sharing his mission of transformative design in healthcare facility design and planning.

A father of two teenagers, Richard and his kids enjoy taking cooking classes when traveling abroad.
An avid traveler, Richard makes sure to represent his roots wherever he goes.
