This international law firm expanded its Houston practice with a bold transformation, adding a floor and refreshing another to create an inviting full-service cafe and a conference center. Establishing a vibrant focal point within the workspace, these refined spaces blend seamlessly with the original office design while elevating the workplace experience.
The cafe offers 300 employees a visually compelling, highly functional destination that supports conferencing, dining, and social engagement. It includes flexible, curated furniture settings accommodating all-day use, from meals and meetings to after-hours community engagement.
Harmoniously integrated into the overall office design, the renovation elevates the work environment by introducing a new layer of aesthetic refinement and functional sophistication.
Meticulous attention to detail turns the convergence of various materials and textures into an artful composition. By carrying the existing figured eucalyptus forward and layering it with new Italian marbles and quartz surfaces, the new spaces feel like a natural, elevated evolution of this office’s established look.
Large-scale architectural wood ceiling elements help define key zones within both the servery and the dining areas, giving each space a clear sense of identity. Dramatic inset lighting and decorative mirrored light fixtures reinforce this definition, shaping how each zone is seen and experienced.
At the heart of the cafe, extendable marble tables paired with vibrant chartreuse accent seating create an eye-catching centerpiece.
The client maintains a high level of service for both clients and employees, and they hoped for a design that matched that level of care. The cafe gives this workplace a dynamic center for social connection and hospitality, while fresh amenities on the additional floor—including a wellness suite and mothers’ room—expand the office into a more complete day-to-day environment.
With sustainability as a key focus, we prioritized materials with a lower carbon impact. Caesarstone Quartz used throughout the design contains up to 40% recycled materials, while Neolith flooring incorporates up to 98% recycled raw materials. Elsewhere, products were chosen for their ability to be refurbished, reused, and repaired, helping reduce waste and extend their lifespan.
