Two of Our Projects Recognized for Design Excellence at the 2025 World Architecture Festival

At its U.S. debut in Miami, WAF honored the ACCIONA Campus in Madrid, Spain, for its sustainable workplace design and our School of Fish conceptual design for its climate-responsive future environment.

Each year, WAF offers a snapshot of where design is headed next. We’re proud to share that two of our projects received major recognition. The ACCIONA Campus—led by our London studio—was named a Winner, and the School of Fish concept—developed by our Miami studio for a Red Sea hospitality competition—received a Highly Commended distinction. These honors reflect our commitment to creating environments that are not only beautiful, but also promote wellness, strengthen community, and respond to today’s climate challenges.

“This recognition speaks to the brilliance of our design teams and the trusted clients who partner with us to realize architecture that leads the global conversation on the future of the built environment,” says Casey Jones, our chief design officer.

Winner, Interiors—Workplace (Large)
ACCIONA Campus

Designed by our London studio, this corporate headquarters campus in Madrid for ACCIONA—a global leader in sustainable infrastructure and renewable energy—reimagines the workplace as a connected ecosystem that supports collaboration, wellbeing, and long-term talent retention. Flexible spaces, natural materials, and strong sustainability strategies set a new standard for high-performing workplace environments.

“I’m proud that the ACCIONA Campus has received this award, recognizing its design excellence, innovative approach to sustainable design, and employee well-being,” says Mijail Gutierrez, design director of our London studio. “This achievement reflects ACCIONA’s progressive and forward-thinking vision, as well as their willingness to engage in a co-creation process grounded in openness, curiosity, and imagination. We’re grateful for their partnership and for the opportunity to help shape a workplace that prioritizes people, innovation, and environmental responsibility.”

Highly Commended, Future Projects (Competition Entries)
School of Fish

Developed by our Miami studio for a hospitality design competition, the School of Fish imagines a hotel within a carbon-neutral Red Sea development. The concept draws inspiration from the collective movement of a school of fish, translating that idea into a climate-responsive environment shaped by local conditions. Our team imagined a building that behaves, transforms, and delivers solutions informed by the coral reefs and the synergistic life within them, energized by sun, water, and community, much like how a school of fish survives within its structure. The project explores sensorial experiences, performative spatial journeys, and technology-enabled strategies to envision an adaptive, future-focused destination for a visionary confidential client proposing a city of the future.

“It was a grounding experience to present in a global theater, a tangible example of our core philosophy and vision, that Living Design and the most high-performing regenerative solutions could bring poetry, beauty, and humanism,” says Pat Bosch, design director of our Miami studio. “Being surrounded by such thought-provoking work was not only inspiring but a challenge for us to do better.”
