We’re Named a “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality” for Fourth Year in a Row

Our firm earns a 100 score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s annual assessment of LGBTQ+ equality in the workplace
LGBTQ+ roundtable, June 2021

We’ve received a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2022 Corporate Equality Index, the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. We join the ranks of over 840 major U.S. businesses that also earned top marks this year. 2022 marks the fourth year in a row that we have been recognized with this honor.

“An inclusive work environment where everyone can bring their full self to work without judgement or fear, where one can feel supported and celebrate who they are, matters at Perkins&Will,” says Meg Brown, our Chief Talent Officer. “We are humbled to receive this award and honored to be an ally for the LGBTQ+ community.”

The results of this year’s CEI showcase how 1,271 U.S.-based companies are not only promoting LGBTQ+-friendly workplace policies in the U.S., but also the 56% of CEI-rated companies with global operations who are helping advance the cause of LGBTQ+ inclusion in workplaces abroad.

The CEI rates companies on detailed criteria falling under four central pillars:

  • Non-discrimination policies across business entities
  • Equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families
  • Supporting an inclusive culture
  • Corporate social responsibility

Through another year of challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic, our firm has continued to prioritize and champion LGBTQ+ equality as part of our commitment to furthering justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in the industry. Among our 2021 initiatives, the Northeast studios held an LGBTQ+ roundtable discussion with several of our leaders who define as part of that community.

“Perkins&Will promotes a culture of J.E.D.I.: Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. It is through this lens that I am embraced as a gay man,” says Chris Morrison, a principal out of our Washington, D.C. studio. “I am thrilled to help champion our fourth year of a perfect score of 100 on the HRC’s Corporate Equity Index (CEI) and List of Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality.”
