As a kid, Vidal used to move his bedroom’s furniture around just to observe how it would change his daily routine. During family trips around the world, he would always pay attention to the interaction between people and spaces in different cultures. Born and raised in São Paulo, Vidal embodies the city’s restless personality and is always looking for inspiration in arts and multiple sports.

Arts and travelling are the main interests Vidal passes on to his daughters. Living in São Paulo with his wife and children, he enjoys weekends taking them to visit museums, expositions, and the city’s main cultural spots, such as Paulista Avenue. Very connected to his family, he designed houses for most of his relatives.

Fernando's path to architecture:

Son of an interior designer, becoming an architect seemed like an obvious path. However, his interest in creation and communications also made him envision a career in advertising. In order to make a choice, he spent two weeks in one of Brazil’s most renowned agencies. The advertisers convinced him to become an architect, by reminding him that the creations in advertising are commonly ephemeral, while architectural designs are idealized to last for years, decades, and even centuries.
