Since joining the firm in 2005, Alex has demonstrated his strength and capability on a variety of project types, including university facilities, government projects, high-rise residential towers, heritage restorations, and pedestrian bridges. He is currently working on the Master Plan for the St. George’s School Senior School campus and Sprout Space™ sustainable modular learning environments. Prior to this, he oversaw Pitt River Middle School—winner of a 2015 Lieutenant-Governor of British Columbia Award of Merit.
As one of the first in Perkins+Will to receive Certified Passive House Designer designation, Alex sees the building standard as a proven method for the design and construction of quiet, comfortable, healthy, durable buildings of all sizes and for almost any use.
Alex also coordinates the office’s pro bono work. Perkins+Will has established a firm-wide Social Purpose program in support of our commitment to the 1+ Program of Public Architecture. Currently, he is working with Gordon Neighbourhood House and Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House. Previous clients include Potluck Café and Catering, Atira Women’s Resource Society, the Downtown Eastside Neighbourhood House, and the Elizabeth Fry Society of Greater Vancouver.
