Heading our Vancouver studio's urban design group, Viren has 20 years of experience leading design teams for master plans, large mixed-use projects and residential communities in cities around the world. His deep understanding of public policy, the public approval process, regulatory frameworks, zoning and development guidelines make him a valuable and strong resource for our clients. He has an innate ability to understand, resolve, create synergies and converge the interests of various stakeholders into a comprehensive plan. Understanding the importance of designing for resilience, Viren is a RELi Accredited Professional, the first person in Canada to earn this designation.
Viren’s recent portfolio includes a variety of projects in Coquitlam, British Columbia including Fraser Mills Master Plan, a waterfront mixed-use community, Riverview Master Plan and Development Analysis, one of the largest urban redevelopments in Western Canada, and Coquitlam Centre, a large-scale transit-oriented mixed-use development. He recently completed the Heather Street Lands Master Plan in Vancouver, a residential neighbourhood with significant community amenities that is a partnership between the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations and the Canada Lands Company.
