Welcome to our San Francisco studio
Tucked beneath the Bay Bridge overlooking the water, our studio has certainly carved out its place in the City by the Bay. Inside our LEED Platinum workplace, we spend our days designing a better future for the city around us. Research and purpose are at the forefront of everything we do: we’re committed to innovation for the greater good of our community. And, we’re proud to live up to a California stereotype or two: sustainability is non-negotiable, and keeping our cool is key.

Working with the Redevelopment Agency of Salt Lake City, we developed a Vision Plan for a downtown district committed to advancing community wellness and delivering equitable outcomes.
The community engagement process included a variety of outreach touchpoints that revealed a series of common themes and observations that were critical to the users and neighborhoods of the Rio Grande District. These themes ultimately guided the development of the urban design framework and placemaking strategy.
Diridon Plaza will be a transformative transit-oriented development, a new civic destination, and a welcoming gateway to the City of San Jose. Located right across from Diridon Station, the project will be part of what is poised to be the largest multi-model transit hub on the west coast, providing seamless access to existing transit services.
A new health sciences education tower in Downtown Oakland. This 225,000 sf, 10-story tower is a “mixed building,” with spaces to learn, focus, collaborate, and socialize. A variety of program uses are held together by the social, collaborative spaces that are also expressed on the building exterior. The building mass is split into volumes with roof terraces at Levels 2, 6, and 10, providing areas of respite from intensive hands on learning. The design intent is to invite collaboration and promote healthy living, embodying the ethos of the University.
Pier 70 Parcel A is a best-in-class life science project in the historic Pier 70 district. It will be the first new building to enact the ambitious Pier 70
district Masterplan, aiming to create an innovative and future-looking environment for science while remaining authentic to the site’s unique history and culture. This project navigates the 300+ page D4D design guidelines for design approval while creating a striking parti driven by daylighting, contextual massing relationships, creation of occupiable balconies for every tenant. The ground level hosts a luxury gym and conference center for tenants as well as retail spaces divisible into micro-retail to support more local businesses.
