Welcome to our Boston studio

Here in the home of the American Revolution, we’re proud of our rebel roots. We hold fast to our values—diversity, collaboration, and innovation—and we’re only half-joking when we tell people to run until apprehended, because we see our studio less like an office and more like a test lab. Ingenuity is embedded in the fabric of our practice, blurring traditional boundaries between disciplines. We take advantage of our city’s world-class academic institutions, actively seeking new perspectives for a fresh, dynamic atmosphere.

A New Era of Leadership

Yanel de Angel has been elevated to Chief Marketing Officer and Vickie Alani has been appointed to Managing Director of our Boston studio. Both appointments are part of our firm’s broader leadership succession strategy, designed to ensure agility and innovation through growth and expansion.

In her new role, Yanel will build on her 18-year journey with Perkins&Will, a tenure marked by leadership, collaboration, and a deep commitment to culture and client success. Vickie brings 37 years of rich, multidisciplinary experience from a leading Boston-based firm, and joins Design Director Patrick Cunningham and Operations Director Andrew Grote to guide the next chapter of our studio’s vision.

As one of the largest certified Net Zero Energy schools in the country, Belmont Middle and HIgh School pairs high-performance design with a material palette inspired by the adjacent Claypit Pond, rooting the architecture in its natural context.

Local Presence
Rooted in our community, city, and region.

Positioned to leave a lasting imprint, we stand firm in the belief that our work is purposeful, site-specific, and aspirational. We seek opportunities to blur traditional boundaries, creating innovative spaces that have earned critical recognition, from high-profile design awards to the distinction of being named among Boston’s “most beautiful” architecture.

Values
Craft is the essence of our purpose.

Our hands-on collaborative environment is bolstered by the designers, creators, and thinkers that uphold these values through their work. The process of making, adoration of assembly, and celebration of the hand of the maker allow us to leverage materiality in search of unconventional solutions.

Culture
We foster growth and new perspectives.

We’re proud of what makes us different. In fact, we think it’s our unique backgrounds and varied experiences that contribute most to our vibrant, creative work environment. In our studio, you’ll have the opportunity to learn and grow both as a design professional and an individual through opportunities to engage with clients and colleagues.

Studio
Our workplace is conceived as a "Living Design Lab".

The people-first design of our studio is a direct reflection of our values that showcase and foster creativity. Much like a museum with an artist-in residence, we made strides to put our unique innovation on display throughout the entire space.
